Community Work

Our aim is to offer as much support to the community as possible and make theatre accessible to as many people as we can. Therefore, as a group, we offer free charity concerts. These usually take place on a weekend but evenings can be accommodated as long as we enough notice. We are happy to tailour a programme to your needs, and can offer a variety if music, song, dance and sketches.

We perform in a variety of venues, from Charity fundraising events, to residential homes. No place is too big or too small, so whatever your need, please feel free to talk to us about it. I'm sure we'll be able to help you out. And don't forget, it's all free! Though a cup of tea and a biscuit wouldn't go amiss!

If you are interested in booking the Rising Stars for a concert, then in the first instance please contact the director on charlotte@yorkrisingstars.co.uk or telephone either (01904) 623222 or 07505 000487 We usually perform in and around York as we don't charge for travel expenses either. However, some of our members performed in Wanna Sing Wanna Dance in Newcastle on October 27th 2007. They performed songs from well known musicals and also show songs written by Newcastle-based talented writer Dennis Westgate and alll money was donated to Oxfam.

Most recently some of our members helped out The Disibilities Trust in York which provides a neurological service for people with acquired brain injury. They filmed some scenes for the service to be used for some self-help DVD's.
